The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast three consecutive days of rainfall and thunderstorms across parts of Nigeria, warning residents to prepare for unsettled weather conditions.
The forecast was contained in the agency’s three-day weather outlook released in Abuja on Sunday.
NiMet said the expected weather conditions could affect several parts of the country, with varying degrees of rainfall and thunderstorms during the forecast period. Residents are therefore advised to remain alert and follow relevant weather updates.
The agency’s prediction comes amid continuing rainy-season conditions across the country, when thunderstorms and heavy rainfall can occur in different locations. Such weather may also affect road travel and outdoor activities in areas experiencing intense rainfall.
NiMet urged members of the public to take necessary precautions during thunderstorms and heavy downpours, particularly in areas prone to flooding. The agency also encouraged Nigerians to continue monitoring official weather forecasts for further updates.
