Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani says President Bola Tinubu should not be blamed for the longstanding challenges of underdevelopment and poor education in northern Nigeria.
Sani argued that the region’s problems existed long before Tinubu assumed office in 2023, pointing to the high number of out-of-school children as evidence.
According to the governor, northern Nigeria accounted for 70 per cent of the country’s out-of-school children as of 2023.
He maintained that political leaders who have governed or held public office in the North since 1999 must share responsibility for the region’s development challenges.
Sani’s remarks shift attention to decades of leadership and governance in northern Nigeria, particularly the failure to address educational challenges affecting millions of children.
