Ndume urges Tinubu and Shettima to visit Maiduguri

Tinubu leaves for UK as Ndume slams Government over Maiduguri bombings

President Tinubu today departed Nigeria for the United Kingdom, despite the fear among Nigerians following reports of bomb attacks in Maiduguri.

Ali Ndume, the senator representing Southern Borno with over 20 years in the National Assembly, criticized the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration’s response to the bombings in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.

On Monday, 23 people were killed and 108 injured in three bomb explosions in Maiduguri at around 7:24 PM.

He stated that the government should set politics aside ahead of the 2027 elections.

“It seems we have abandoned the people for politics. Voters are dying,” he said.

Ndume emphasized that Bola Ahmed Tinubu should focus on governance and begin addressing the security and welfare of Nigerians.

“If their welfare and security do not improve, the government will appear as an enemy to them.

He must act on his promises regarding this security issue so the people can see that he genuinely cares about their well-being,” Ndume said.
