The Joint Task Force, Operation HADIN KAI, has issued a warning to communities in northeast Nigeria about the heightened risk of suicide bombings by Boko Haram and ISWAP militants during the final days of Ramadan.
This alert comes in the wake of recent explosions in Maiduguri.
In an official statement released on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, the task force highlighted that such attacks typically escalate during religious observances.
Crowded public places such as mosques, markets, and motor parks are especially vulnerable during this period.
The task force urged residents to remain cautious, stay alert to unusual activities, and fully cooperate with security personnel to help prevent further incidents.
It also confirmed that security measures have been intensified across the region to protect lives and property amid the ongoing threat.
