Over the past few hours two MQ-9 Reaper drones have been downed by an “advanced new defence system”, the Revolutionary Guard’s public relations office says.
The unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down over Isfahan province by the defence system “under the control of the country’s integrated air defence network”, Fars news agency quoted the office as saying.
The MQ-9 Reaper is primarily flown by the US military, but it’s allies also have access to the drone.
No immediate response to the report was available from the US or Israeli militaries.
