Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has expressed concern over the growing contrast between the respect Nigerian leaders receive internationally and the hostility they often face from citizens at home.
She noted that while many Nigerian leaders are recognised and honoured abroad for their roles and contributions, they are frequently subjected to criticism, abuse, and ridicule within the country.
Mrs Tinubu attributed the situation largely to hate-driven narratives and political manipulation that shape public perception against leaders.
She made the remarks in a statement shared on her official Facebook page following her recent appearance at the United States National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC.
