Authorities in Kano State, northern Nigeria, say they discovered a man hiding inside a large travel bag during a raid on the home of a married woman after neighbours reported suspicious activity.
The search was carried out by the Kano Hisbah Board, a regional Islamic morality police agency that enforces religious and social codes in the predominantly Muslim state.
Officials said the man was concealed inside a bulky woven storage sack commonly known across West Africa as a “Ghana Must Go” bag an oversized zippered bag widely used for travel and moving belongings.
The unusual discovery quickly drew attention online, with social media users reacting with disbelief and humour over the dramatic attempt to avoid detection.
The incident has also renewed debate around morality policing, privacy, and conservative social norms in parts of northern Nigeria, where the Hisbah regularly investigates cases involving alleged adultery and other conduct-related offences.
