Deadly storm leaves destruction and displacement in northern Nigeria as residents seek urgent help.

A powerful rainstorm has killed two people and destroyed more than 50 homes in Kaduna State, leaving dozens of families displaced.

The storm struck Dokan Mai-Jama’a community in Chikun Local Government Area on Monday evening, bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds that lasted over 40 minutes, according to local residents.

Community leader Hamisu Tukur said the disaster caused widespread destruction, with many buildings completely flattened and others left without roofs.

Nearby Sabon Gyero, located within Millennium City, was also affected, with multiple homes damaged and perimeter fences destroyed, further compounding the impact on residents.

Survivors are now seeking temporary shelter and salvaging belongings from the wreckage, while appealing to government agencies, including National Emergency Management Agency, for urgent humanitarian assistance.
