Bala Mohammed has dismissed reports linking him to a potential vice presidential candidacy in Nigeria’s 2027 elections.

Bauchi state governor Bala Mohammed has denied reports that he is planning to join a new political alliance or seek the vice presidency in Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.

The governor was responding to media and social media speculation claiming he could become the running mate of former Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan in a future presidential bid.

Mohammed described the reports as baseless and said no discussions or arrangements have taken place regarding a presidential or vice-presidential ticket. He stressed that the claims were based on speculation rather than fact.

Instead, the governor said his current political ambition is to contest for a Senate seat representing Bauchi South under the All Progressives Movement (APM).

Rumors about a possible Jonathan-Mohammed ticket gained traction following reports that the governor could return to another political party ahead of the 2027 elections. However, Mohammed reiterated that his focus remains on representing his constituency in Nigeria’s National Assembly.
