Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has said the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu are helping state governments execute development projects while paying workers’ salaries and pensions as and when due.

He made the statement while highlighting the impact of the reforms on Katsina State.

Dikko Radda stated this in Katsina, at the Tinubu/Dikko Assured 2027 Islamiyya Teachers’ Empowerment Programme, alongside the inauguration of a school and the virtual inauguration of 45 solar-powered streetlights.

Radda said Katsina State had been able to execute projects without taking loans, adding that his administration was also meeting its financial obligations to workers and pensioners. According to him, the situation was different in the past when the state depended on borrowing to pay salaries.

The governor particularly cited local government financial autonomy as one of the reforms that had strengthened the capacity of states to provide services and implement projects.

He urged Nigerians to assess governments based on their achievements and measurable results rather than political rhetoric.

Radda also maintained that leaders have a responsibility to fulfil promises made to the people, stressing that effective leadership should be built on trust.
