Nearly 30 years after the murder of American rapper Tupac Shakur, the trial of a man accused of involvement in his killing is set to begin.
A former gang leader was arraigned before a court in Las Vegas on Monday over allegations that he was involved in the murder of Shakur.
The rapper was killed in 1996, in a case that has remained one of the United States’ most prominent unsolved crimes for decades.
According to a report published by The New York Times on Monday, the trial represents a significant step towards establishing what happened to the legendary rapper.
Tupac Shakur, widely known as 2Pac, died after being shot in Las Vegas in September 1996. He was 25 years old.
