Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State, on Friday, donated vehicles to 40 Imams of Juma’at mosques across the state to assist them in carrying out their religious responsibilities more effectively.
Speaking during the presentation, the governor said the donation was aimed at improving the clerics’ mobility, enabling them to expand their preaching and community engagement.
He noted that Zamfara is deeply rooted in Islamic values, with Imams serving communities across its 14 local government areas, and added that the welfare of religious leaders remains a key priority of his administration.
According to him, the 40 beneficiaries represent the first phase of the initiative, which will continue in subsequent phases.
“We are constructing mosques and houses for Imams, and we also feel it is important for them to move freely,” he said.
