President Bola Tinubu has restated his administration’s determination to confront the rise in banditry, kidnapping and terrorism across northern Nigeria, insisting that no part of the region will be neglected.
The President made the remarks during the 25th Anniversary celebration of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) in Kaduna on Saturday.
Represented by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajuddeen Abbas, Tinubu said the North is facing one of the most severe periods in its history, marked by deepening insecurity, the erosion of communal values, and a weakening of the moral systems that once held its communities together.
He acknowledged that the scale and complexity of the security challenges inherited by his administration were daunting. However, he reaffirmed that his commitment to restoring peace in the region remains unwavering and urgent.
Tinubu also addressed the region’s economic difficulties, promising to halt its long-running decline. He expressed optimism that the North is on the threshold of economic transformation, citing the anticipated commencement of crude oil production from the Kolmani fields and other emerging petroleum prospects across the region.
