2027: Makinde rules out return of fuel subsidy, unveils alternative plan The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has said fuel subsidy would not return if he wins the 2027 presidential election. Speaking during the inauguration of his campaign office in Abuja on Monday, Makinde proposed a more transparent approach to providing benefits to Nigerians. The governor said rather than bringing back fuel subsidies, his administration would focus on policies aimed at reducing the economic burden on Nigerians and creating a more sustainable system for managing the country’s energy sector.
