Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Oyo state Governor Seyi Makinde held a closed-door meeting with former military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd.), on Monday at his residence in Minna, Niger State.
Speaking after the meeting, Atiku said the visit was aimed at strengthening the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Niger State and advancing the real-time electronic transmission of election results. He dismissed speculations linking the visit to his alleged 2027 presidential ambition.

Atiku added that the ADC remains focused on grassroots mobilization and the strengthening of party structures across the country, from the ward level to the national level.
He was accompanied by several party leaders, including former Osun State Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Senators Ben Obi and Ozemina, as well as the Niger State ADC Chairman, Musa Hassan.
Governor Makinde, who arrived later, declined to speak with journalists and remained in the inner chamber for a private engagement.
Atiku arrived in Minna at about 1:30 p.m. and proceeded directly to Babangida’s residence, while Governor Makinde arrived at approximately 2:10 p.m.
