The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council says former Vice President Atiku Abubakar plans to campaign across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The council said the nationwide campaign would form part of efforts to engage voters and mobilise support for Atiku’s presidential bid.
The announcement was made by the council’s Director of Strategic Communication, Phrank Shaibu, during an interview with ARISE News on Sunday. He said the campaign timetable would be released soon.
Shaibu explained that Atiku’s campaign would go beyond rallies in state capitals to include town hall meetings, community engagements and visits to local government areas and villages.
He said the campaign would focus on the economic difficulties facing Nigerians, particularly rising living costs, hunger and declining purchasing power, which he argued affect people across the country.
The ADC spokesperson also dismissed suggestions that Atiku’s political support was limited to northern Nigeria, insisting that the former Vice President would engage voters in every region.
The announcement contrasts with President Bola Tinubu’s plan to personally attend campaign rallies in 12 states, as he seeks to balance his re-election campaign with official responsibilities.
