The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the only Nigerian leader with the courage and determination to tackle the country’s deep-rooted challenges.
Speaking at his monthly media briefing on Tuesday in Abuja, Wike defended Tinubu’s economic reforms, particularly the removal of petrol subsidy, describing the decision as the boldest taken by any Nigerian president in decades.
Wike noted that although some of the government’s policies have been difficult, they are necessary to secure Nigeria’s long-term development. He argued that true leadership requires making tough decisions in the interest of the country, even when they are unpopular.
The former Rivers State governor praised Tinubu’s commitment to infrastructure development and economic transformation, saying the administration is laying the foundation for sustainable growth.
He urged Nigerians to support the President’s policies and allow the reforms enough time to produce meaningful results.
According to Wike, Nigeria needs leaders who are willing to place national interest above politics.
He expressed confidence that Tinubu possesses the vision and political will required to move the country forward and called on citizens to remain united in support of the government’s development agenda.
