President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has dismissed claims that his administration is orchestrating the collapse of opposition parties, insisting that no politician has been coerced into defecting or silenced through state power.
Speaking during an interfaith Iftar with senators at the Presidential Villa, Tinubu addressed criticism that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is benefiting from pressure on opposition figures to switch allegiance.
The President’s remarks come amid a surge of defections to the APC, which critics argue is skewing Nigeria’s political landscape. Tinubu, however, insisted that these decisions reflect personal conviction rather than compulsion.
