Former Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Jaji Sambo, has expressed concern over what he described as the slow pace of development in Taraba State over the past 35 years.
Sambo said the state has failed to make meaningful progress despite its huge human and natural resources.
Speaking during a political gathering in Taraba, the former minister lamented that many communities in the state still lack basic infrastructure such as good roads, healthcare facilities, and quality education.
He stressed that the people deserve better governance and improved living conditions after decades of democratic leadership.
Sambo noted that Taraba possesses enormous agricultural and economic potential capable of transforming the state into one of the leading economies in Northern Nigeria.
However, he argued that poor leadership and lack of proper planning have prevented the state from achieving significant growth and development.
The former minister also called on political leaders and stakeholders to unite and work toward rebuilding the state.
According to him, future administrations must focus on transparency, accountability, and people-oriented projects that will directly improve the welfare of citizens across the state.
He further urged residents of Taraba to actively participate in the political process and support leaders with clear developmental agendas.
Sambo maintained that with proper leadership and collective effort, the state can still overcome its challenges and regain lost opportunities for progress.
