Former Zamfara State governor and senior APC figure Abdul’aziz Yari says there is no reason for northern Nigerians to withhold their support for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Yari made the remarks as political activities intensify ahead of the election, with politicians seeking support across different parts of Nigeria.
He urged northerners to consider the Tinubu administration’s policies and achievements before deciding whom to support in the election.
According to Yari, re-electing Tinubu would give the president an opportunity to complete programmes initiated by his administration. He said voters should focus on the government’s record rather than political differences.
Yari also called for unity among northerners ahead of 2027, arguing that supporting Tinubu would help the region maintain representation and influence in the federal government.
