A small passenger plane crashed near Juba, the capital of South Sudan, killing all 14 people on board, including the pilot.

The aircraft, identified as a Cessna 208 Caravan operated by a local airline, lost contact while flying from Yei to Juba.

Authorities say early indications suggest the crash was likely caused by bad weather, particularly poor visibility.

The victims included mostly South Sudanese nationals, along with two Kenyans.

The crash happened about 20km outside Juba, and emergency teams have been sent to investigate, with videos showing the wreckage engulfed in flames.
